Handmade Creations by Joria
JORIA is a project aims to support vulnerable women residing in Jordan on the psycho-social level through offering occupational therapy.
This project supported by Nippon International Cooperation for Community development (NICCOD:http://www.kyoto-nicco.org/) aims to support vulnerable women residing in Jordan on the psycho-social level through offering workshops such as embroidery, cooking and knitting.
Most of them have gone through painful experiences in their lives, tend to stay home and keep anxiety in their mind.
The program gives them opportunities to talk and share their stories, and learn new skills. By concentrating on producing, they are able to relieve the stress and gain the strength to overcome the difficult situation. The more they participate, the more they are motivated and excited about learning, and start having confidence in themselves.
Through selling their products, they are able to gain their own income; this project is supporting not only women but also their precious families.
